Fred H. Barge (1933–2003) of La Crosse, Wisconsin, was a Palmer graduate (1954), prolific author and lecturer, and president of the International Chiropractors Association. A leading voice of traditional straight chiropractic, he defended its vitalistic identity and its focus on the vertebral subluxation.
