Active Release Techniques® Lower Extremity Level 2

SEMINAR OVERVIEW
ART Lower Extremity Level 2 provides evidence-based instruction of the necessary skills to detect and treat soft-tissue anomalies and dysfunctions of the feet, ankles, legs, knees, hips, and surrounding structures. ART Level 2 seminars instruct practitioners to identify and treat alterations in tissue texture, tension, function, and movement between two structures. This approach allows for proper relative motion that may result in improved outcomes. Throughout the seminar, attendees review the muscle and soft-tissue structures of the lower extremity, and how to evaluate and appropriately treat the disorders using the ART Diagnostic Algorithm and 72 advanced manual protocols. Lower Extremity Level 2 techniques can be used to treat a broad list of dysfunctions, including runner’s knee, shin splints, plantar fasciitis, and other soft-tissue dysfunctions.

CORE LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Recite the four basic components of ART treatment protocols.
Recognize common symptom patterns of upper extremity neuromuscular injuries and disorders.
Summarize the cellular response to ART treatment on soft-tissue structures.
Compare healthy and unhealthy tissue utilizing hands-on palpation techniques.
Paraphrase Relative Motion and how it pertains to ART treatment.

DELIVERY FORMAT AND METHOD OF INSTRUCTION
ART Lower Extremity Level 2 seminars provide a hybrid learning model with online modules and in-person training. Attendees are expected to complete online preparatory materials consisting of a review of gross anatomy, explanations of the ART Diagnostic Algorithm, treatment methodology, protocol instructions, and a pre-credentialing exam. During the in-person portion of the seminar, attendees work alongside instructors and other attendees to practice palpation and treatment protocols. After completing the online modules and 24 hours of in-person training, attendees will demonstrate their skills through a practical exam to determine if they meet minimum certification requirements to employ ART treatment to patients.

Must be ART Lower Extremity Level 1 certified.

SEMINAR SCHEDULE

Thursday: 7:30am–6:00pm (Introduction, Foot)
Friday: 8:00am–6:00pm (Lower Leg)

Saturday: 8:00am–6:00pm (Upper Leg, Hip)

Sunday: 8:00am–12:00pm*

*Individual testing occurs in 20-minute increments between 8:00am and 12:00pm (please plan travel accordingly).
