ART Lower Extremity Level 1 provides evidence-based instruction to detect and treat soft-tissue anomalies and dysfunctions of the feet, ankles, legs, knees, hips, and surrounding structures. Attendees review muscle and soft-tissue structures of the lower extremities and learn to evaluate and treat disorders using the ART Diagnostic Algorithm and 62 manual protocols. Techniques treat dysfunctions including runner's knee, shin splints, plantar fasciitis, and other soft-tissue dysfunctions.
CORE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Recite the four basic components of ART treatment protocols. Summarize the cellular response to ART treatment on soft-tissue structures. Compare healthy and unhealthy tissue using hands-on palpation techniques. Identify a muscle or soft-tissue texture, tension, movement and function through palpation and patient assessment. Palpate 62 anatomical soft-tissue structures within the lower extremity using appropriate tension, depth, and motion to properly perform the treatment protocol.
DELIVERY FORMAT: Hybrid model with online modules and in-person training. Attendees complete online preparatory materials covering gross anatomy review, the ART Diagnostic Algorithm, treatment methodology, protocol instructions, and a pre-credentialing exam. In-person, attendees practice palpation and treatment protocols with instructors and other attendees. After completing online modules and 16 hours of in-person training, attendees take a practical exam to determine if they meet minimum certification requirements to employ ART treatment on patients.
Seminar Schedule: Day 1 Instruction 7:30–15:00: Protocol Review. Day 2 Instruction 8:00–15:00: Protocol Review. Day 3 Instruction 8:00–12:00: Protocol Review. Day 3 Testing 13:00–16:00: Testing. Each attendee tests on 6-10 protocols during a 20 or 30-minute time slot on Sunday between 13:00 and 16:00 (plan travel accordingly).
Hybrid model: online preparatory modules plus 16 hours in-person training. Day 1: 7:30–15:00 Protocol Review. Day 2: 8:00–15:00 Protocol Review. Day 3: 8:00–12:00 Protocol Review, 13:00–16:00 Testing (each attendee tests on 6-10 protocols during a 20 or 30-minute time slot on Sunday between 13:00 and 16:00).
