Course Overview
The ICAK-UK Foundation Course in Applied Kinesiology is a structured postgraduate training programme designed for healthcare practitioners who wish to develop greater diagnostic clarity and more precise treatment strategies.

Applied Kinesiology integrates structural, biochemical, neurological, emotional and acupuncture meridian systems using manual muscle testing as a functional assessment tool.

This five-module training programme provides a systematic framework for identifying underlying causes of patient presentations and improving clinical outcomes, particularly in complex or persistent cases.

Participants frequently report improvements in clinical confidence, diagnostic reasoning and the management of challenging or chronic patient presentations.

Full Course Description
Applied Kinesiology (AK) is a comprehensive clinical system that integrates musculoskeletal examination, neurological evaluation, nutritional assessment and meridian relationships.

Using manual muscle testing as a functional indicator of physiological balance, AK allows practitioners to evaluate how structural, biochemical and neurological factors interact within the body.

The ICAK-UK Foundation Course introduces these methods through a structured sequence of five weekend modules. Each module builds progressively on the previous one, enabling participants to develop practical skills in functional muscle testing, structural diagnosis, nutritional assessment and neurological integration.

Throughout the course, emphasis is placed on clinical reasoning and practical application, allowing practitioners to integrate these methods directly into everyday practice.

Booking Structure
Participants may book the course in one of the following ways:

Module 1 – Introduction Weekend

Practitioners may attend Module 1 as a standalone module to gain an introduction to Applied Kinesiology assessment and clinical integration.

Following completion of Module 1, participants may then decide whether to continue with the full Foundation Course.

Full Foundation Course (Modules 1–5)

Practitioners who wish to complete the full training programme may book all five modules together, which includes a discounted course fee compared with booking modules individually.

Modules 2–5

Modules 2–5 are designed to be taken as a structured sequence and must therefore be booked together as a group.

These modules are not available individually for new participants.

Drop-In Attendance

Practitioners who have previously completed an Applied Kinesiology Foundation Course may attend individual modules on a drop-in basis, subject to availability.

The course is open to healthcare practitioners who have completed a minimum 3000-hour medically oriented undergraduate education (or equivalent).

Certification
Participants who complete the Foundation Course are eligible to sit the ICAK-UK Proficiency Examination.

Successful candidates are awarded a Certificate of Proficiency in Applied Kinesiology and may apply for membership of ICAK-UK.
